You Don’t Get To Give Up!

I felt defeated. Tired. Weary. Which is when our feelings go haywire.

This is when most of us make permanent decisions based on a temporary storm, because our feelings are screaming at us to get away from this pain!

You must never make a permanent decision based amidst a temporary storm you are facing.

Recently, as I was amongst a major storm, my feelings began whispering to me: “Mark, give up on your podcast, Elevating Beyond.” And then I remembered what I had told someone recently, in a similar situation:

You Don’t Get To Give Up!

Your dreams are bigger than you. You have a responsibility to be the best YOU. And it’s a lifelong journey.

We are all put on this earth for a reason, & it’s to be the best YOU!

Thank God I walked the talk, and did not give up on Elevating Beyond, because just a day later, I received an email that brought me to tears.

“Hello Mark, I’ve been listening to your podcast for the past 3 months. I wanted to let you know, that 3 months ago I was in a very dark place, and had given up on everything, including my own life. I somehow came across your podcast, Elevating Beyond. I started listening to all the stories you and your guests share about all the adversity you all have faced, and how you all never gave up and overcame the odds. I just want to tell you thank you, because for the first time in years, I’ve begun to have hope again.”

Wow. My eyes welled up with tears, as I said thank you to God, for showing me this is so much bigger than me. It’s not about me.

You Don’t Get To Give Up.

Whatever it is you are going after, your dream of your company, writing a book, speaking, getting a promotion, being a better husband or wife, parent, opening a Church-Whatever it is that God puts in YOUR heart, remember this…

You Don’t Get To Give Up.

YES! Thanks for reminding me of this. Isn’t it funny how our own words come back to encourage us? 🙂
